Constructed on an artificial hill during the Ming Dynasty's Yongle era, stands Jingshan Park (Jingshan Gongyuan) as a remarkable royal landscaped garden which covers an area of 23 hectares (57 acres). The park contains five peaks with an ornate pavilion on the top. As you explore the lush ambience, notice how the surrounding traditional tombs and residences were constructed by implementing the feng shui principles. Take a walk through the park and view its large peony rose garden. The area features a calm, mystical atmosphere where you can commonly find locals socializing and doing cultural activities. If you go to the palace museum, then you enter one way and exit the other. I know you are tired because of the walking, but when are you going to be in China again. Walk across the street and go here.... more »
I strongly strongly recommend anyone who had never been to Beijing go Check this park out first! Of course on a clear day! You will see the entire Beijing, all the Famous landmark at the tip of the hill. its only 50meter high will take 10-15 min to walk up. Ticket is like 2RMB =40 US cents.
A short walk to the park from forbidden city.. climbing up to the TOP of a hill .. there are few pavilions along the way and you can chose to stop and rest. The highest one around 47m climb and you would be able to see it clearly the panoramic view of the forbidden city. The park has nothing much rather than having a great view of the forbidden city from the top. Worth a visit if you keen to tale more photo of forbidden city at the elevated land...
