#53 of 191 in Museums in Berlin
Dali - The Exhibition at Potsdamer Platz is a house of the surreal, with more than 400 exhibits displaying Salvador Dali's genius. Look for the "Apocalypse of St. John" with holes punched in it--a painting that was blessed by the Pope and that Dali tried to destroy in a fit of self-abasement. English-speaking guides are on hand at the museum, so there is no need to book ahead. These Dali Scouts lead you through the rooms, describing paintings and sharing details about Dali's life along the way. The exhibits showcase more than 2,000 pieces of Dali's work gathered from private collections around the world. The modern building doubles as an event venue Add Dali - The Exhibition at Potsdamer Platz to your Berlin travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Berlin online itinerary planner.

  • Pretty decent exhibition of a rather prolific and creative artist. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.  more »
  • Great exhibition of Dali Art. 450 original pictures, really worth to see that when in Berlin, espcially its hided and not so much people waiting there for the entrance.  more »

  • Very interesting exhibition with a large amount of art to look at. There is also a viewing area to watch 3 different short films. One thing to know is that you must pay a bit extra if you would like to take pictures inside in order to insure that the photos will not be used for further uses. This is fine, especially when in a group. There are hourly tours that go into details of certain drawings, letting you know more about what was drawn and also of hidden features one wouldn’t immediately see. If you happen to be there just before a tour I recommend joining the tour.
  • Stunning, awe inspiring. A fabulous collection of some of Dali's lesser known works and lithographs. Very well sorted collection. One can definitely get lost in the tiny intricate details of each piece. Staff was also very friendly. Get a free coffee if you bring a brochure from your hostel. Would have liked some better explanation regarding materials used, etc or English descriptions.
