Europa-Center, Berlin

2.8
#29 of 143 in Shopping in Berlin
An icon of West Berlin, the site where Europa-Center was erected was once the Romanisches Café, a gathering place for writers, artists, and theater personalities. The building lay in ruins after being bombed during World War II. The site then was used as an open space for circus troupes and even a cinema. The shopping center you'll visit there nowadays was built in the 1960s and includes more than 100 shops. The complex is large enough to house a hotel, apartment building, and a number of restaurants. Keep your eyes peeled for works of art that dot the premises, such as the Buddy Bear sculptures that depict colorful bears standing on their hind legs. • It's best area in West Berlin near famous Zoo-Garden. Inside nice restaurants and shops. Many attractions around this center.  more »
  • Don’t enter, we send one hour looking for DM, the place is very small and the only reason we enter is for waiting my wife finishing he leg massage (there is a great Asian massage outside)  more »

  • This is probably the best mall in Berlin. Not because of all the fancy shops but because of the interior. The ceiling is low and it's kind of dark in comparison, which gives the place a certain charm. This mall is screaming old school an the pond in the center really tops everything off. If you ever come here, enjoy coffee and ice cream by the pond and listen to the flowing water and forget the city surrounding you for a while.
  • A lovely shopping mall! Well known brands but also interesting smaller shops. Good food area.Absolutely with it visiting! I'm there quite often.
