One of the best-preserved Renaissance fortresses in Europe, Spandau Citadel is a riverside fort originally designed to protect the town of Spandau. Built from 1559 to 1594, the citadel is made up of many buildings, including a gatehouse with a drawbridge, a residential palace, and the large Julius tower. Walk through the permanent exhibition on the history of the citadel in the former commander's house, or arrange for a tour of the bat-filled bat cellar. During summer, the fortress and its grounds hold numerous outdoor events and performances, including the renowned Citadel Music Festival.   • Bit disappointed with Spandau the old town, not as tranquil and historic as some sites state. Citadel very traditional, very well laid out and good value for money.  more »
  • I enjoyed the walk around the citadel. It was very quiet, and I only saw one school group and a few people wandering around. I read online that it opened at 10am, but unfortunately that was just the.....  more »

  • (As a concert venue). Interesting place to watch a concert, definitely a bit of an experience. Not great in terms of everyone being on even ground, so there’s nowhere to sit and it’s hard to get a good view & have space to dance. Easy lineups, quick entry.
  • This place is a very good to see some shows. The only problem is that they don't have any parking for bikes and to let your bike outside you can find your bike without wheel like me. That's why I have 4 stars
