  • A fabulous temple to visit. There are quite a few tourists milling about but far more people actually using the temple shrines to worship. It is a bit away from the city centre but worth the trip out just for the spectacle and the atmosphere. You can take pictures but obviously you have to be sensitive not to intrude on worshippers. You can visit all the spaces and shrines except for the main shrine if you are not a practicing Hindu. I hadn't encountered this before and I had the impression most temples allowed visitors of all faiths in to all areas. The 600+ wooden carved figures over the entrance are the eye-catching attraction. You can spend a long time looking at all the characters and keep seeing new things. Outside the temple the streets are full of flower and trinket stalls but also places to drink and eat are close by.
  • A must visit temple for any human being, regardless of your religion. The architecture is simply marvelous and stunning. Very relaxing place that you can visit on non festive days, which let's you explore the temple without crowds. If you have read this far, you do have a calling to be and live a Hindu life. Think about it.
