A visit to the sacred complex of Ise Grand Shrine allows you to discover a series of Shinto sacred sites centered on two main temples. The 125 shrines date back to the 4th century BCE and are hugely popular pilgrimage spots, visited by millions of devotees each year. The most visited is the Inner Shrine, or "Naiku," which is traditionally rebuilt every twenty years. As you approach this temple, take a moment to appreciate the peaceful ambience, scenic forested setting, and the simple architecture of the wooden shrine buildings. • There were a lot of people who visited the inner shrine even in the morning before noon on Saturday. The approach is full of people. There are a lot of people in Shogu, too. It was said that it is good to go early in the morning, but it is convincing. I think I'll go early in the morning next time.

  • Crossing the Uji Bridge over the Isuzu River is the world of God. I feel that the air is different in the holy place exactly. Amaterasu Okami, the god of the Japanese general clan, is enshrined. Amaterasu Omigami is the god of the sun and seems to be a goddess. It is Amaterasu Okami that hits before the fifth generation of emperor Jinmu who is the first emperor. Although it is a story of the world of the myth, there is a strong connection with the imperial family. The "Hachiman Mirror", one of the three sacred instruments that is a testament to the legitimate emperor of the Imperial Family, is the sacred body of the Emperor who enshrines Amaterasu Daigo. Of course, I was not able to see it. Photography is prohibited on the stone steps in Shogu. I went up the stone steps and visited the shrine at the outer Tamagaki Minami-gomon, which is made of white silk. Inside of it is the holy place in the Holy Land, and there are the Gosho-den, Toho-den, and Xiho-den. But of course, you could only see the roof. In addition, it is said that there is more profit in the bill and the amulet if the outer shrine and the inner shrine are aligned.

  • Where to start. We came on news years day so it was packed. This is one of Japan's oldest and most famous shrines. Everyone knows it. With that said, the nature is gorgeous! The buildings are well kept, partly due to the numerous donation boxes spread around the grounds. A definite recommendation!
  • Literally the way of the gods ! Great place both or tourists and spiritual people.....
