Ruin Landmark Must See
Visit Wat Pho, one of the six main Buddhist temples in Thailand. Admire the 46 m (151 ft) long Buddha statue and its memorable pose, and explore the wide range of temple buildings displaying rich and intricate religious designs and a history dating back to the 16th century. Vital to the spiritual and architectural heritage of the city and the country at large, the site houses the largest collection of Buddha depictions in Thailand. Said to be the first public university in the nation, the temple also has an illustrious educational history and still runs courses on traditional Thai massage and medicine. • Nice cluster of temples. Many different types with various aesthetics. We came just as it opened to see the large “resting” Buddha. It was very quickly full of tourists about 30 minutes later. It’s an easy walk from the river ferry terminal. You need to bring exact THB amount for the entry tickets because for some weird reason they won’t give you change. There are many cute cats here too! You also get a small bottle of water for free with your ticket.
  • This is a beautifully maintained temple ground; with the main attraction being a large reclining Budha. It's about a ten minute walk from the Grand Palace; and is much less busy. You will have to remove your shoes upon entry, but you can carry them in a bag if you'd like versus leaving them outside. You are also allowed to bring your camera inside. Make sure you check out the feet which are beautifully covered in pearls; and the hair from the backside. People rush through the back of the statue; but it really has some interesting details!
