Nearly destroyed by war during the 1990s, the riverside city of Sarajevo now serves as one of the region's major educational, cultural, and commercial hubs.
Get some historical perspective at Bascarsija and Sebilj Brunnen (Fountain). Get a sense of the local culture at War Childhood Museum and Gallery 11/07/95. On the 11th (Sat), hike the day away at Vrelo Bosne. There's still lots to do: take in the local highlights with Walking tours, get curious at Museum Of Crimes Against Humanity And Genocide 1992-1995, take in the spiritual surroundings of Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, and don't miss a visit to Sarajevo War Tunnel.
