The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Schonbrunn Palace and Belvedere Palace. Head to Vienna Naschmarkt and Graben and Kohlmarktfor some retail therapy. The adventure continues: pause for some serene contemplation at St. Stephen's Cathedral, stop by Xocolat, examine the collection at Imperial Palace (Hofburg), and wander the streets of Mariahilfer Strasse.

Beirut, Lebanon to Vienna is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
On the 28th (Thu), wander the streets of Andrassy Avenue, browse the fresh offerings at Central Market Hall, then admire the landmark architecture of Hungarian Parliament Building, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Matthias Church, and finally make a trip to Halaszbastya. Keep things going the next day: go for a walk through Roman Beach, then examine the collection at House of Terror Museum, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), and finally make a trip to Vaci Street.
