Open since 1872, Roger Williams Park Zoo is home to more than 100 species of rare animals. In the North American section, admire bald eagles, red wolves, American bison, and otters. Watch the harbor seals swim through an underwater viewing window. Other exhibits include the Marco Polo adventure trek, where you can see snow leopards, moon bears, and red pandas, and the Fabric of Africa, featuring zebras, elephants, and giraffes.   • I am a member and enjoy every single visit! Variety of animals, great atmosphere and my girl looooves it! She even knows what animal to see next! But we always enjoy it. Social distancing is on point....  more »

  • We really liked the zoo. My animal lover kid enjoyed it very much. The zoo is small. There aren't too many species like some big zoos. The animals in the zoo are in good health and state though. There are 4 elephants and 4 giraffes. The animal view points are well placed that gives good and close views of the animals. There are playing areas for kids and also a little hiking trail with knowledge nuggets.
  • This place would have gotten another star if they had any way to cool down. I get that it is a park and you should expect to be hot in the high heat of summer, but cooling misters throughout the park are an easy addition to make your guests that much more comfortable. No animals were out due to the heat, so that plus being crazy hot just added up to no fun for us. Maybe next time will be better!
