Located in the bustling city center and considered one of architect Antoni Gaudí’s signature works, Casa Batllo can perhaps best be described as a combination of Modernist and Art Nouveau architecture. Gaudí’s design goal seems to have been to avoid straight lines—completely. Much of the facade is decorated with mosaics made of broken ceramic tiles, ranging in shades from golden orange to greenish blue. The roof is arched and often described as resembling the back of a dragon or dinosaur, so it’s not surprising that most locals call the building "House of Bones." Originally built for a middle-class urban family, this is one of two Gaudí houses available for touring. Skip the lines by booking your tickets online. Aparte of other attractions, Casa Batllo is a mandatory place to visit. Really nice visit, even if you think the tickets seem to be quite expensive.

The building is cleverly designed by Gaudi, loved how he got the light through to the apartments, and all the details he put in. The audio guide was very good. The price of the ticket is higher...

We had an amazing experience here. The building is amazing and the audio guide is very detailed and interesting. We had a gold pass so we could change the time of visit and had access to some refreshments. The tour ended in an amazing display of modern video art that just lifted everything. The gift shop is also a must. Overall splendid visit

A surreal place that you must visit. It's cheaper to buy tickets online. Right after the opening time when the initial visitors went in but was still a bit early in the morning there was no queue and we went in straight away. The architecture is beyond compare and the audio guide provided nice details to what we saw. We were in a bit of a hurry and it took us about an hour to go through the floors but I would go there to take it easy next time. It's a genius work of art.
