Helsingoer — 10 nights

Home to the castle made famous by Shakespeare's "Hamlet," Helsingoer offers rolling hills and lush forests in the countryside, juxtaposed by the acclaimed art galleries, museums, and cosmopolitan atmosphere of the town center.
Do your shopping at Glassmedjen and Arreso Glassworks. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Jaegerborg Dyrehave and Helsingor Havn. Change things up with these side-trips from Helsingoer: Jaegerspris Slots Museum (in Jaegerspris), Hundested (Fjordstien, Cykel Og Vandresti, Nordsjaellands Kattegatkyst, &more) and Frederiksborg Slotskirke (in Hillerod). There's still lots to do: pause for some photo ops at Holger Danske, explore the world behind art at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, don't miss a visit to Fredensborg Palace, and explore the historical opulence of Kronborg.

To find where to stay, maps, other places to visit, and tourist information, use the Helsingoer online journey planner.

Reykjavik, Iceland to Helsingoer is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time to Central European Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Reykjavik in July, things will get a bit warmer in Helsingoer: highs are around 26°C and lows about 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
