Doris is a wonderful guide with the knowledge that only a local guide can provide. Would have liked to go into some churches and buildings to learn more about the history of the particular spots.

Nothing to fault and plenty to recommend. We arranged a private tour by e-mail and spent three hours in Harlem with Carolyn. Unlike all (every one) of her competitors the e-mails were answered promptly and professionally. The tour we booked was matched by the experience on the day. Carolyn was early to the meeting point and still happily carrying on as we ran over time. There was no sense of us being 'on the meter'. Instead there was an enthusiasm for sharing the story and experience of Harlem, but a story based on realism, not rose-tinted spectacles. The tour was well thought out, covered many dimensions of Harlem and was well paced with a coffee and lunch break fitting in perfectly. I'd unhesitatingly recommend the tour to anyone.
